A commander of an occult objects retrieval unit recalls a lost love while patrolling the Mediterranean during World War II. #AltHistory #Fantasy

Author Mark Orr lives in Middle Tennessee with his wife of forty years, a couple of cats, a history degree and way too many books. On his best days, he gets to play with his grandchildren - currently four, with a fifth expected by the end of 2021. His hard-boiled supernatural mystery novels, Smarter Than the Average Werewolf and Dead Women in Love, are both available from Dark Recesses Press and through Amazon. He is also scribing a bi-weekly column for HorrorAddicts.net under the moniker Historian of Horror.

Narrator Jim Hodgson is a humorist from Atlanta, GA. He writes, produces, and acts in Bad Gladiator, a full-cast audio comedy set in ancient Rome.

Does It Hurt by Dawn Lloyd

Monday Jul 05, 2021

Monday Jul 05, 2021

A bit of monkpunk to mark the passing of the solstice. Andrew McCurdy and Lou J. Berger read.
Author Dawn Lloyd is an American who got bored and set out across the world looking for adventure. Nineteen years, four continents and six countries later, she has returned to settle into the Alaskan bush. She is the Editor in Chief of The Colored Lens speculative magazine. More information about her adventures can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/dawnlloydwriter/home .
Narrator Lou J. Berger is a Denver-based fiction author, with about two dozen published short stories, a couple novelettes, and a novella (which was work for hire and probably doesn’t count). He’s been published in Galaxy’s Edge Magazine, Daily Science Fiction, and a host of anthologies. In 2017, he was a Finalist for Writers of the Future.
Narrator Andrew McCurdy is a writer and editor whose day job as a Speech-Language Pathologist involves providing nonverbal children with access to technology to help them communicate. He lives in rural Nova Scotia with a thirteen year old girl, two freakishly old cats, and an assortment of feral creatures who have assumed ownership of the woodshed and only grant him access if he’s carrying food.

It was supposed to be a jolly evening of drinking and parlor games. What could possibly go wrong? Daren Callow narrates.

Author Harris Coverley lives in Manchester, England, where he (mostly) pretends to be busy. He has short fiction published or forthcoming in Planet Scumm, Horror Magazine, Eldritch Journal, and Shotgun Honey, amongst others. He is also a Rhysling-nominated poet with verse in Star*Line, Spectral Realms, Utopia Science Fiction, Jitter, and elsewhere. If he really had his own “Instant” he would have undoubtedly met his doom years ago.

As an actor, as well as (seemingly endless) live performances of Tales Of New Albion stories and plays, Daren has also lent his voice to Brighton Theatre of The Air and 2 Bit Productions audio dramas, he also finds time to record his own steampunk podcast (also entitled Tales Of New Albion) featuring original comedy material voiced by a cast of thousands (approx.) and readings of his sci-fi stories.

We finally made 100! To celebrate, we're going all the way back to the first story we aired, the original air kraken story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sound quality is not quite up to the current quality as the original 2010 master file for the story was not in a recoverable condition.
