Ep. 57 – The Mark V Eleganté by Nelson Stanley

A hard driving tale of machines and mayhem to soothe your steampunk soul.  Wilson Fowlie narrates.

download

Author Nelson Stanley works in a library & lives in Cornwall, UK. He has published fiction in several outlets, including the British Fantasy Award-winning anthology Extended Play, from Elastic Press. He has a new story out soon in Lethe Press’ new anthology THCock.

Narrator Wilson Fowlie has been reading stories out loud since the age of 4, and credits his parents for any talent he has for it. He’s been narrating for podcasts since he answered a call for readers for PodCastle in 2008. He’s narrated dozens of stories for many podcasts, including all of the Escape Artists shows. Wilson fits all this narrating between his day job as a web developer in Vancouver, Canada, and directing a community show chorus called The Maple Leaf Singers.

Curiosities #2

gate_by_28crucis-db7qy5v

The Spring issue of Curiosities is out now in all formats. Visit our Store page for links. Cover art by concept artist and illustrator Justin Tiang, and since it seemed a shame that it did not  all fit onto the cover, we thought we should post the original image here.

The stories selections for this round are lighter topics (well, lighter by Gallery standards – ed.)  that felt right for the season. The Summer issue is shaping up to be a collection of steampunk travel and adventure stories. We will be holding the darker horror stories for the Winter issue in December.

Spring 2018 Table of Contents:

On the Path by Kelly A. Harmon (reprint)
The Analytical Engine of Hester Watts, Grand Mistress of the Unseen by Laura Duerr
The Thousand Injuries by Eric Cline – We can tell you it is a tribute, but to tell you more would spoil it.

East Wind in Carrall Street by Holly Schofield (reprint)
Dem Bones by Ann Stolinsky
The Stolen Child by Gavin Bradley – Faerie fans, you’ll like this one.

Ep. 56 – The Long Afternoon of Sir Rupert Moncrief by Gareth D Jones

A lovely little time travel story for the changing of the clocks. And your fire alarm batteries too.  Listener favorite Vic Mullin narrates.

Author Gareth D Jones is from the UK and works with hazardous waste, which has so far failed to mutate him into a superhero. He is a father of 5 who also writes stories and drinks lots of tea. His stories have appeared in 40 publications and 27 languages.

Narrator Vic Mullin is a 40 something scotsman who is usually surrounded in a cloud of vapor from constant e-cig usage.  He is generally found spending time editing YouTube videos or lazing around in New Babbage pretending to build something.
